Greetings, and welcome to my website.

Before you explore everything on offer, I thought it might be useful to explain a little about myself and give some context to what you are about to discover. A bio of sorts, certainly,  though perhaps more of a preliminary perspective before you jump in, because in true Marc Craig fashion there is quite a lot to digest.

I am an artist with an insatiable appetite for creativity. I am creating all day long. Whether I am drawing hypnotic doodle meditations on my iPad, embarking on maverick Neo-Expressionist missions across old maps, or standing before a vast wall and spraying an epic mural into existence, I am essentially a conveyor belt of creative output.

This is good in some ways and tricky in others. Good because I am never bored. Tricky because I rarely feel that anything is truly finished, and at any given moment I have a ridiculous number of projects on the go.

I am continuously practising the art of spinning plates. I have also banned myself from beginning any new projects. We shall see how that goes.

The common thread running through all these eclectic manifestations is a desire not only to express my own creativity, but to connect with the creativity in others. Collaboration and mutual inspiration are the life force of my being. Connection gives me purpose and makes me excited about the day ahead. I simply need to remember to pause occasionally and reboot. As always, I am a work in progress.

Below you will find an overview of my current projects. They may appear independent, but they are all deeply connected, because they were born from the creative powerhouse that is Leake Street, beneath Waterloo Station in London.

That space has the glorious distinction of being a rip in the fabric of the city's banality, offering a never-ending exchange between infinite expression and finite creative acts. Just when you think it is finished, it reinvents itself. Then it does so again. That is precisely the point: it sustains itself by refusing to stop.

The only moment to truly pause is when you stand back from whatever you have made and acknowledge that you have moved from doing to done. It is that wonderful moment when you recognise that a power greater than you has worked through you, as though you were a conduit, connecting you to others in the process. That is the golden ticket. The art may be transient, but the connections open onto endless possibilities.

Here are the projects I am working on at the moment. Each has its own site, so think of this space as a gateway to them all. I am also preparing to open an Art Storefront shop, bringing the creative output from these different projects together under one roof.

THE PROJECTS

1. MIND THE MAP — itvoids.com

A collaborative project bringing together 55 artists, each creating two artworks — 110 in total — using maps from my late father's collection as their canvases. It also includes individual works of my own: a deeply personal continuation of my work reclaiming maps as canvases, using emotional cartography to explore memory, place and psychogeography.

2. THE ARK OF EXTINCTION — thearkofextinction.com

A collaborative project working with people and organisations around the world to raise awareness of specific endangered animals through street art and digital art.

3. TOMORROW'S HARVEST — citywallsart.com

An upcoming exhibition of digital drawings depicting flowers in bloom, exploring gratitude, impermanence and the shared joy of planting seeds of potential.

4. RESIST AND REACT — marccraig.co.uk

Exploring the deeper layer of connecting meaningfully and spontaneously with people by completing their portrait. A collaboration between computer code, patterned outline, and the trust of the person at the other end.

5. ITVOIDS — itvoids.com

One of my most profound creative experiences: an exploration of the creative process embodied by Leake Street, working with AI and mathematical processes to discover how its underlying structure can translate naturally across many other disciplines.

6. MAX THE VIRUS — maxthevirus.com

A cheeky and somewhat unassuming street-art character I created, who enjoys nothing more than literally reaching out with his arms — and, wherever possible, reaching out to others.
